Excitation function of 27Al+ 20Ne reaction upto 166 MeV
Dibyasree Choudhury, Susanta Lahiri

TL;DR
This study measures the excitation functions of the 27Al+20Ne reaction across a range of energies up to 166 MeV, identifying various evaporation residues to enhance understanding of nuclear reaction mechanisms.
Contribution
It provides new experimental data on excitation functions and residue identification for the 27Al+20Ne reaction up to 166 MeV, using the stacked foil technique.
Findings
Measured excitation functions from 49 to 166 MeV.
Identified multiple evaporation residues including 43,44Sc and 41Ar.
Data supports modeling of nuclear reactions involving aluminium.
Abstract
Aluminium is used as energy degrader or catcher foil or as backing material in nuclear physics experiments. Excitations functions of 27Al+ 20Ne reaction in the projectile energy range 49-166 MeV were measured using stacked foil technique. Various evaporation residues such as 43,44Sc, 41Ar, 34m,38Cl, etc., were identified in the matrix.
