## TL;DR

This study measures the excitation functions of the 27Al+20Ne reaction across a range of energies up to 166 MeV, identifying various evaporation residues to enhance understanding of nuclear reaction mechanisms.

## Contribution

It provides new experimental data on excitation functions and residue identification for the 27Al+20Ne reaction up to 166 MeV, using the stacked foil technique.

## Key findings

- Measured excitation functions from 49 to 166 MeV.
- Identified multiple evaporation residues including 43,44Sc and 41Ar.
- Data supports modeling of nuclear reactions involving aluminium.

## Abstract

Aluminium is used as energy degrader or catcher foil or as backing material in nuclear physics experiments. Excitations functions of 27Al+ 20Ne reaction in the projectile energy range 49-166 MeV were measured using stacked foil technique. Various evaporation residues such as 43,44Sc, 41Ar, 34m,38Cl, etc., were identified in the matrix.
