Calculation of High-current Linear Proton Accelerator for the Energy of 80 MeV
S. N. Dolya, I. Sarhadov

TL;DR
This paper explores the design of a high-current linear proton accelerator capable of reaching 80 MeV energy, utilizing pulsed acceleration in a spiral wave guide and magnetic focusing with superconducting solenoids.
Contribution
It presents a novel approach combining spiral wave guide acceleration with superconducting magnetic focusing for high-current proton beams.
Findings
Feasibility of pulsed acceleration in spiral wave guides
Magnetic focusing with superconducting solenoids effectively focuses proton beams
Design parameters for 80 MeV proton accelerator established
Abstract
The article considers an opportunity of pulsed acceleration of the proton beam in a spiral wave guide. The radial focus of the proton beam in the accelerator is carried out by means of the magnetic field of ten Tesla, generated by a superconducting solenoid.
