Polarization scattering by soliton-soliton collisions
V.S. Shchesnovich

TL;DR
This paper analytically investigates how soliton collisions in the Manakov system can cause polarization mode switching, identifying conditions and parameters for effective polarization control.
Contribution
It provides a theoretical proof of complete polarization mode switching during soliton collisions and determines the parameters needed for such switching.
Findings
Existence of complete polarization mode switching is proven.
Parameters for solitons to achieve polarization switching are identified.
Analytical solutions describe the collision dynamics and polarization changes.
Abstract
Collision of two solitons of the Manakov system is analytically studied. Existence of a complete polarization mode switching regime is proved and the parameters of solitons prepared for polarization switching are found.
