Rho meson production in ultraperipheral dAu collision
S. Timoshenko (for STAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports the first observation of rho meson production in ultra-peripheral deuteron-gold collisions, highlighting electromagnetic interactions at large impact parameters without nucleon-nucleon collisions.
Contribution
It provides the first experimental evidence of rho meson production in ultra-peripheral dAu collisions, expanding understanding of electromagnetic processes in heavy ion interactions.
Findings
First observation of rho meson in dAu ultra-peripheral collisions
Detection of rho^0 production in specific reaction channels
Demonstrates electromagnetic interactions dominate at large impact parameters
Abstract
Ultra-peripheral heavy ion collisions involve long range electromagnetic interactions at impact parameters larger than twice the nuclear radius, where no nucleon-nucleon collisions occur. We report on the first observation of rho meson production in dAu->d Au rho^0 and dAu-> n p Au rho^0.
