Spin filtering on a ring with Rashba hamiltonian
M. Harmer

TL;DR
This paper analyzes a quantum ring with Rashba spin-orbit interaction connected to multiple wires, deriving its scattering matrix and exploring its potential for spin filtering in a three-terminal setup.
Contribution
It provides a detailed scattering matrix formulation for a Rashba ring with attached wires and demonstrates its application in spin filtering devices.
Findings
Derived the scattering matrix for the Rashba ring system.
Showed the system's capability for spin filtering in a three-terminal configuration.
Analyzed the influence of system parameters on spin polarization.
Abstract
We consider a quantum graph consisting of a ring with Rashba hamiltonian and an arbitrary number of semi-infinite wires attached. We describe the scattering matrix for this system and investigate spin filtering for a three terminal device.
