Wlodzimierz Tulczyjew, Pawel Urbanski

TL;DR
This paper explores the principle of virtual work in dissipative systems, introduces generating families of forms, and discusses critical points of convex forms with various examples.
Contribution
It introduces the concept of generating families of forms and the notion of critical points of convex forms in the context of convex static systems.
Findings
Introduction of generating families of forms
Discussion of critical points of convex forms
Application to dissipative systems
Abstract
The principle of virtual work for dissipative systems is stated. Partially controlled systems are discussed and the concept of a generating families of forms is introduced. The notion of a critical point of a family of convex forms is introduced and discussed. A number of examples is given.
