A new interpretation for the mass of a classical relativistic particle
Richard Cushman, Wilberd van der Kallen

TL;DR
This paper offers a novel group-theoretic perspective on the concept of mass for classical relativistic particles, based on recent classifications of Poincaré group coadjoint orbits.
Contribution
It introduces a new interpretation of relativistic particle mass using the classification of Poincaré group coadjoint orbits, advancing theoretical understanding.
Findings
Provides a new group-theoretic interpretation of mass
Utilizes recent classification of Poincaré coadjoint orbits
Enhances conceptual understanding of relativistic particles
Abstract
Based on a recent classification of coadjoint orbits of the full Poincar\'{e} group, we give a new group theoretic interpretation for the mass of a classical relativistic particle.
