Pohlmeyer invariants are expressible in terms of DDF invariants
Urs Schreiber

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that Pohlmeyer invariants are a subset of DDF invariants in classical bosonic strings, simplifying their quantization and enabling generalization to superstrings.
Contribution
It establishes the relationship between Pohlmeyer and DDF invariants, facilitating easier quantization and extension to superstring theory.
Findings
Pohlmeyer invariants are a subset of DDF invariants
Quantization of Pohlmeyer invariants is simplified
Extension to superstring is possible
Abstract
It is shown that the Pohlmeyer invariants of the classical bosonic string are a proper subset of the classical DDF invariants. This makes the quantization of the Pohlmeyer invariants particularly transparent and allows to generalize them to the superstring.
