TL;DR
This paper explores how reducing a 3D gravitational Chern-Simons term to 2D results in a dilaton-like gravity theory with kink solutions, representing conformally flat 3D spaces.
Contribution
It introduces a novel reduction of the gravitational Chern-Simons term leading to kink solutions in a dilaton-like gravity framework.
Findings
Kink solutions correspond to conformally flat 3D spaces
Reduction yields a new 2D dilaton-like gravity theory
Solutions provide insights into 3D conformally flat geometries
Abstract
When the 3-dimensional gravitational Chern-Simons term is reduced to two dimensions a dilaton-like gravity theory emerges. Its solutions involve kinks, which therefore describe 3-dimensional, conformally flat spaces.
