Comment on "A note on the construction of the Ermakov-Lewis invariant"
F. Haas, J. Goedert

TL;DR
This paper critiques a previous work on deriving the Ermakov invariant, arguing that its main results are not novel and have been established earlier using Noether symmetry methods.
Contribution
It clarifies that the derivation of the Ermakov invariant from Noether symmetry methods is not a new result, challenging prior claims of novelty.
Findings
The main results are not new.
Previous derivations of the Ermakov invariant exist.
The paper questions the originality of the referenced work.
Abstract
We show that the basic results on the paper referred in the title [J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. v. 35 (2002) 5333-5345], concerning the derivation of the Ermakov invariant from Noether symmetry methods, are not new.
