M. J. Prata

TL;DR
This paper derives analytical formulas to calculate the solid angle subtended by a cylindrical detector from a point source with cosine angular distribution, specifically when their axes are orthogonal.
Contribution
It provides new analytical expressions for the solid angle in the case of orthogonal axes between the source and the cylindrical detector.
Findings
Derived explicit formulas for the solid angle
Applicable to sources with cosine angular distribution
Enhances accuracy in detector calibration
Abstract
We derive analytical expressions for the solid angle subtended by a right circular cylinder at a point source with cosine angular distribution in the case where the source and the cylinder axes are mutually orthogonal.
