P. M. Llatas, J. M. Sanchez de Santos

TL;DR
This paper explores how S-duality in type IIB string theory acts as local U(1) transformations, constructing SL(2,Z) multiplets of supersymmetric backgrounds and their Killing spinors.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to derive SL(2,Z) multiplets and transformation laws of Killing spinors using the local U(1) perspective in type IIB supergravity.
Findings
Constructed SL(2,Z) multiplets for supersymmetric backgrounds.
Derived transformation laws for Killing spinors under S-duality.
Provided a unified framework for understanding duality transformations.
Abstract
The S-duality transformations in type IIB string theory can be seen as local U(1) transformations in type IIB supergravity. We use this approach to construct the multiplets associated to supersymmetric backgrounds of type IIB string theory and the transformation laws of their corresponding Killing spinors.
