Naoto Yokoi, Toshio Nakatsu

TL;DR
This paper investigates the microscopic states of extremal BTZ black holes within a boundary N=(4,4) superconformal field theory, confirming their degeneracy matches the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy using elliptic genus and representation theory.
Contribution
It provides a microscopic derivation of the degeneracy of extremal BTZ black holes in N=(4,4) SCFT, linking boundary theory to black hole entropy.
Findings
Degeneracy of extremal BTZ black holes matches Bekenstein-Hawking entropy.
Utilizes elliptic genus and N=4 superconformal algebra for state counting.
Supports the holographic duality between gravity and boundary CFT.
Abstract
We discuss the microscopic states of the extremal BTZ black holes. Degeneracy of the primary states corresponding to the extremal BTZ black holes in the boundary N=(4,4) SCFT is obtained by utilizing the elliptic genus and the unitary representation theory of N=4 SCA. The degeneracy is consistent with the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy.
