Casimir force between Chern-Simons surfaces
M. Bordag, D.V. Vassilevich

TL;DR
This paper calculates the Casimir force between two plates with boundary conditions altered by a Chern-Simons term, showing the effect is experimentally detectable.
Contribution
It introduces a novel calculation of the Casimir force considering Chern-Simons boundary conditions, highlighting potential experimental observability.
Findings
The Casimir force is affected by Chern-Simons modifications.
The effect is within current experimental detection capabilities.
Provides a new approach to studying topological effects in quantum field theory.
Abstract
We calculate the Casimir force between two parallel plates if the boundary conditions for the photons are modified due to presence of the Chern-Simons term. We show that this effect should be measurable within the present experimental technique.
