The cosmology with the Dp-brane gas
Chanyong Park, Sang-Jin Sin, Sunggeun Lee

TL;DR
This paper explores how a gas of Dp-branes influences string cosmology, revealing that it leads to a Brans-Dicke-like cosmology with specific equations of state depending on brane dimension and spacetime.
Contribution
It establishes a connection between Dp-brane gas dominance and Brans-Dicke cosmology, deriving the equation of state parameter in terms of brane and spacetime dimensions.
Findings
Cosmology with Dp-brane gas mimics Brans-Dicke theory.
Derived equation of state parameter $b3$ in terms of p and spacetime dimension.
Identified conditions under which Dp-brane gas dominates the cosmological dynamics.
Abstract
We study the effect of the Dp-brane gas in string cosmology. When one kind of Dp-brane gas dominates, we find that the cosmology is equivalent to that of the Brans-Dicke theory with the perfect fluid type matter. We obtain , the equation of state parameter, in terms of p and the space-time dimension.
