TL;DR
This paper explores the entropy of zero-area horizon black holes, linking monopole microstates in brane theories to string theory calculations, confirming U-duality invariance.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to black hole entropy by relating monopole solutions to string theory microstates, aligning with U-duality principles.
Findings
Entropy formula matches stringy calculations
Microstates identified as monopole solutions
Entropy respects U-duality invariance
Abstract
We consider the entropy of a black hole which has zero area horizon. The microstates appear as monopole solutions of the effective theory on the corresponding brane configurations. The resulting entropy formula coincides with the one expected from stringy calculation and agrees with U-duality invariance of entropy.
