R. Blumenhagen, A. Font, A. Kumar, D. Lust

TL;DR
This paper constructs tachyon-free orientifolds of non-supersymmetric Type 0B string theory and explores the resulting non-supersymmetric gauge theories on D3-branes in these backgrounds.
Contribution
It introduces a method to build stable, tachyon-free orientifolds of Type 0B string theory and analyzes the gauge theories on D3-branes in these settings.
Findings
Construction of stable, tachyon-free orientifolds.
Analysis of non-supersymmetric gauge theories on D3-branes.
Insights into the structure of non-supersymmetric string backgrounds.
Abstract
A construction of compact tachyon-free orientifolds of the non-supersymmetric Type 0B string theory is presented. Moreover, we study effective non-supersymmetric gauge theories arising on self-dual D3-branes in Type 0B orbifolds and orientifolds.
