Tachyon Condensation in Rotated Brane Configurations
S. P. de Alwis

TL;DR
This paper investigates tachyon condensation in rotated brane configurations within string theory, analyzing decay processes and mass spectra, including a specific case aligning with Sen's results.
Contribution
It provides a heuristic analysis of tachyon mass in rotated branes, extending understanding of decay mechanisms and confirming known results in a specific orbifold case.
Findings
Mass of the state on the fixed plane matches Sen's result at rotation angle π.
Heuristic argument supports decay of rotated branes via tachyon condensation.
Analysis enhances understanding of brane decay in orbifold backgrounds.
Abstract
The decay of rotated brane configurations and the corresponding condensation of tachyons is discussed. In a certain IIB orbifold case a heuristic argument about the mass of the state living on the fixed plane is made. When the rotation angle is this mass agrees with that obtained by Sen.
