F. A. S. Nobre, C. A. S. Almeida (Departamento de, Fisica-UFC-Brazil)

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that a Pauli-type coupling in an Abelian Chern-Simons-Higgs model can generate fractional spin, highlighting a novel mechanism for fractionalization in gauge theories.
Contribution
It introduces a non-minimal Pauli coupling in the model as a new way to produce fractional spin in gauge field theories.
Findings
Pauli coupling induces fractional spin in the model
Fractional spin arises without additional topological terms
Provides a new perspective on fractionalization mechanisms
Abstract
In this work we consider an Abelian Chern-Simons-Higgs model coupled non-minimally to matter fields. This coupling is implemented by means of a Pauli-type coupling. We show that the Pauli term is sufficient to gives rise to fractional spin.
