Higgsed antisymmetric tensors and topological defects
J. Troost (U. of Brussels)

TL;DR
This paper discovers topological defect solutions in a generalized Higgs model involving antisymmetric tensor fields, extending the concept of Nielsen-Olesen vortices to higher dimensions.
Contribution
It introduces novel topological defect solutions in a Higgs model with antisymmetric tensors, generalizing known vortex solutions to higher-dimensional contexts.
Findings
Found topological defect solutions in a generalized Higgs model.
Extended Nielsen-Olesen vortex solutions to higher dimensions.
Demonstrated the equations of motion admit these solutions.
Abstract
We find topological defect solutions to the equations of motion of a generalised Higgs model with antisymmetric tensor fields. These solutions are direct higher dimensional analogues of the Nielsen-Olesen vortex solution for a gauge field in four dimensions.
