String Theory, Matrix Model, and Noncommutative Geometry
F. Ardalan

TL;DR
This paper explores the compactification of the Matrix Model on a noncommutative torus, analyzing the BPS spectrum and revealing a new SL(2,Z) symmetry arising from string-D-brane interactions with background B fields.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to compactification involving noncommutative geometry and uncovers a new SL(2,Z) symmetry in the system.
Findings
Compactification on a noncommutative torus derived from string-D-brane setups.
Identification of the BPS spectrum in this context.
Discovery of a new SL(2,Z) symmetry in the model.
Abstract
Compactification of Matrix Model on a Noncommutative torus is obtained from strings ending on D-branes with background B field. The BPS spectrum of the system and a novel SL(2,Z) symmetry are discussed.
