S-Matrices from AdS Spacetime
Joseph Polchinski

TL;DR
This paper establishes a connection between gauge theory correlators and flat spacetime S-matrices within the AdS/CFT framework, providing a new way to compute scattering amplitudes from gauge theories.
Contribution
It identifies a specific gauge theory correlator whose large-N limit yields the flat spacetime S-matrix, bridging gauge theory and scattering amplitudes.
Findings
Correlation function corresponds to flat spacetime S-matrix in large-N limit
Provides a method to compute scattering amplitudes from gauge theory
Enhances understanding of AdS/CFT correspondence in flat spacetime
Abstract
In the large-N limit of d=4, N=4 gauge theory, the dual AdS spacetime becomes flat. We identify a gauge theory correlator whose large-N limit is the flat spacetime S-matrix.
