Martin Cederwall, Ulf Gran, Magnus Holm, Bengt E.W. Nilsson

TL;DR
This paper constructs explicit finite tensor deformation solutions for M5 and D3 branes in supergravity, revealing new BPS configurations with excited tensor fields that preserve half of the supersymmetry.
Contribution
It provides the first explicit non-linear supergravity solutions with finite tensor excitations on branes, extending understanding of brane dynamics and supergravity equations.
Findings
Solutions are BPS-saturated and half-supersymmetric.
Explicit metrics for deformed M5 and D3 branes are derived.
Finite selfdual tensor and Born-Infeld field strengths are incorporated.
Abstract
We consider brane solutions where the tensor degrees of freedom are excited. Explicit solutions to the full non-linear supergravity equations of motion are given for the M5 and D3 branes, corresponding to finite selfdual tensor or Born-Infeld field strengths. The solutions are BPS-saturated and half-supersymmetric. The resulting metric space-times are analysed.
