Interacting Strings in Matrix String Theory
G. Bonelli

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates how Green-Schwarz superstring theory emerges from Matrix String Theory by analyzing the strong coupling limit and relating string diagrams to spectral curves, recovering key string theory features.
Contribution
It provides a novel derivation of the Green-Schwarz superstring from Matrix String Theory through strong coupling analysis and spectral curve identification.
Findings
Derivation of GS superstring from Matrix String Theory.
Recovery of perturbative string weights and Euler characteristic dependence.
Connection between string diagrams and spectral curves.
Abstract
It is here explained how the Green-Schwarz superstring theory arises from Matrix String Theory. This is obtained as the strong YM-coupling limit of the theory expanded around its BPS instantonic configurations, via the identification of the interacting string diagram with the spectral curve of the relevant configuration. Both the GS action and the perturbative weight , where is the Euler characteristic of the world-sheet surface and the string coupling, are obtained.
