AdS/CFT correspondence and coincident D-6-branes
Sergei V. Ketov (MPI Potsdam, and ITP Hannover)

TL;DR
This paper explores the connection between confinement in gauge theories and the AdS/CFT correspondence, focusing on the gauge symmetry enhancement for coincident D-6-branes using supersymmetric sigma-models.
Contribution
It provides an analysis of gauge symmetry enhancement for D-6-branes within the framework of N=2 supersymmetric non-linear sigma-models and discusses the relation to confinement and Maldacena conjecture.
Findings
Gauge symmetry enhancement occurs for coincident D-6-branes.
The hypermultiplet low-energy effective action is described by an Eguchi-Hanson target space.
A brief discussion on the relation between confinement and AdS/CFT correspondence.
Abstract
A relation between confinement and Maldacena conjecture is briefly discussed. The gauge symmetry enhancement for two coincident D-6-branes is analyzed from the viewpoint of the hypermultiplet low-energy effective action given by the N=2 supersymmetric non-linear sigma-model with the Eguchi-Hanson (ALE) target space.
