TL;DR
This paper explores the relationship between D-3 branes and M-theory five branes wrapped on a torus, revealing how different gauge choices in the PST formalism correspond to S-dual 3-brane configurations.
Contribution
It demonstrates how S-dual D-3 branes can be derived from the M-theory five brane through gauge choices in the PST framework.
Findings
Identification of S-dual 3-branes as gauge choices
Connection between D-3 branes and wrapped M5 branes
Insights into M-theory brane dynamics
Abstract
The D-3 brane is examined from the point of view of the wrapped M-theory five brane on a torus. In particular, the S-dual versions of the 3-brane are identified as coming from different gauge choices of the auxiliary field that is introduced in the PST description of the five brane world volume theory.
