TL;DR
This paper investigates the existence and classification of ring-like and knotted solitons within the O(3) non-linear sigma model, emphasizing the importance of knot isotopy and identifying torus knot solitons.
Contribution
It introduces the role of knot isotopy in classifying solitons and reports the appearance of torus knot solitons in the model.
Findings
Ring-like and knotted solitons exist in the O(3) sigma model.
Knot isotopy is crucial for classifying these solitons.
Torus knot solitons are observed in the model.
Abstract
The existence of ring-like and knotted solitons in O(3) non-linear sigma model is analysed. The role of isotopy of knots/links in classifying such solitons is pointed out. Appearance of torus knot solitons is seen.
