TL;DR
This paper computes higher derivative corrections in four-dimensional N=2 super Yang-Mills theory with SU(2) gauge group and four hypermultiplets, using a three-brane approach in F theory, confirming field theory results.
Contribution
It introduces a method to compute higher derivative terms in N=2 gauge theories via three-branes in F theory, aligning with known field theory calculations.
Findings
Higher derivative corrections match field theory results
The three-brane approach effectively captures low-energy effective actions
Provides a new geometric perspective on N=2 gauge theories
Abstract
The computation of higher derivative corrections to the low energy effective actions of gauge theories is considered. In particular, higher derivative corrections are computed for four dimensional super Yang-Mills theory with gauge group SU(2) and hypermultiplets in the fundamental representation. The four derivative terms computed in an approach which realizes the gauge theory as the world volume theory of three branes in F theory are in agreement with the field theory result.
