TL;DR
This paper calculates M theory corrections to the quark-antiquark potential in N=1 Super Yang-Mills, revealing a constant term and an exponentially suppressed component related to confinement.
Contribution
It provides the first computation of M theory corrections to the confining potential in N=1 SYM, including a novel exponential suppression term.
Findings
Identified a constant additive term in the potential.
Discovered an exponentially small correction with a length scale of _{QCD}^{-1}.
Showed similar potential behavior in the softly broken N=1 SYM case.
Abstract
We compute the M theory corrections to the confining linear potential between a quark and an anti-quark in N=1 Super Yang-Mills theory. We find a constant term, and a term exponentially small with characteristic length of . The potential in the MQCD setup that corresponds to softly broken N=1 SYM is found to have a similar behavior.
