A. Jaramillo (U. Valencia, Spain), P. Mansfield (U. Durham, UK)

TL;DR
This paper introduces a method to compute vacuum expectation values from the vacuum wave functional using derivative expansions and analyticity, enabling analysis of both slowly and rapidly varying fields.
Contribution
It presents a novel approach combining derivative expansions with complex analysis to evaluate vacuum expectation values for a wider class of field variations.
Findings
Successfully reconstructs contributions from rapidly varying fields.
Extends the applicability of derivative expansions to more general field configurations.
Provides a new computational framework for vacuum expectation values.
Abstract
We show how to compute vacuum expectation values from derivative expansions of the vacuum wave functional. Such expansions appear to be valid only for slowly varying fields, but by exploiting analyticity in a complex scale parameter we can reconstruct the contribution from rapidly varying fields.
