M.J. O'Loughlin, S. Randjbar-Daemi

TL;DR
This paper explores the geometry of the $AdS_3 imes \mathbb{R}$ space as a target for the $(2,1)$ heterotic string, focusing on its symmetries and dimensional reduction from higher-dimensional solitonic configurations.
Contribution
It introduces the $AdS_3 \times \mathbb{R}$ target space for the $(2,1)$ heterotic string and analyzes its null isometries and dimensional reduction mechanisms.
Findings
Identification of null isometries in the target space
Reduction to 1+1 dimensions via gauging isometries
Connection to solitonic configurations in 2+2 dimensions
Abstract
We study a target space geometry of the form for the heterotic string. This target space arises as the near horizon limit of a solitonic configuration in 2+2 dimensions. We investigate the null isometries of this space and discuss the reduction to 1+1 dimensions of the target space geometry arising from the consistent gauging of one of these isometries.
