Dual symmetry and the vacuum energy
V.I. Tkach, J. Socorro, J.J. Rosales, J.A. Nieto

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new hidden dual symmetry in flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker gravity models that naturally cancels the cosmological constant, offering a novel perspective on vacuum energy.
Contribution
It uncovers a previously unknown symmetry in gravity that, when applied, eliminates the cosmological constant in flat FRW models.
Findings
Identifies a hidden dual symmetry in flat FRW gravity.
Shows this symmetry leads to the vanishing of the cosmological constant.
Provides a new interpretation of vacuum energy in cosmology.
Abstract
In this work we present a new hidden symmetry in gravity for the scale factor in the FRW model, for . This exact symmetry vanishes the cosmological constant. We interpret this hidden symmetry as a dual symmetry in the sense that appears in the string theory.
