Large N limit of orbifold field theories
Michael Bershadsky, Andrei Johansen

TL;DR
This paper investigates the large N limit of orbifold field theories derived from ${ m N}=4$ theories, showing that their correlation functions match those of ${ m N}=4$ in the large N limit, using a purely field theoretical approach.
Contribution
It provides a field theoretical derivation confirming the string theory results on the large N equivalence of orbifold and ${ m N}=4$ theories.
Findings
Correlation functions of orbifold theories match ${ m N}=4$ in large N limit
Rescaling of gauge coupling constant is sufficient to relate the theories
Field theory analysis confirms string theory predictions
Abstract
We consider certain orbifoldization of the field theories that leads to field theories in 4 dimensions. These theories were recently analyzed using the string theory perturbation technique. It was found that in the large limit all correlation functions of the orbifold theories coincide with those of , modulo the rescaling of the gauge coupling constant. In this paper we repeat the same analysis using the field theoretical language.
