TL;DR
This paper introduces two new derivations for the charge quantization condition of p-brane dyons in specific dimensions, highlighting the roles of theta-terms and dimensional reduction effects.
Contribution
It provides novel derivations of the (-)^p factor in p-brane dyon charge quantization, connecting theta-terms and compactification effects.
Findings
Derived the (-)^p factor using charge shift consistency with theta-terms.
Linked sign differences to effects of dimensional reduction.
Enhanced understanding of charge quantization in p-brane theories.
Abstract
We present two novel derivations of the recently established factor in the charge quantization condition for -brane dyon sources in spacetime dimension =+2. The first requires consistency of the condition under the charge shifts produced by (generalized) -terms. The second traces the sign difference between adjoining dimensions to compactification effects.
