TL;DR
This paper demonstrates how extremal Reissner-Nordstrom black holes can be modeled as D3-branes wrapped on Calabi-Yau threefolds, linking supergravity solutions with D-brane boundary states.
Contribution
It provides an explicit correspondence between supergravity solutions and D-brane boundary states for black holes on Calabi-Yau manifolds, especially in the orbifold limit.
Findings
Explicit construction of black holes as wrapped D3-branes
Correspondence between supergravity solutions and boundary states
Analysis in the orbifold limit T^6/Z_3
Abstract
We show how an extremal Reissner-Nordstrom black hole can be obtained by wrapping a dyonic D3-brane on a Calabi-Yau manifold. In the orbifold limit T^6/Z_3, we explicitly show the correspondence between the solution of the supergravity equations of motion and the D-brane boundary state description of such a black hole.
