Electrically Charged Vortex Solution in Born-Infeld Theory
E.Moreno, C.Nu\~nez, F.A.Schaposnik

TL;DR
This paper presents the numerical construction of electrically charged vortex solutions in the Born-Infeld Higgs system with a Chern-Simons term, highlighting their unique properties and the necessity of the Chern-Simons term for charge.
Contribution
It introduces the first numerical electrically charged vortex solutions in Born-Infeld theory with a Chern-Simons term, contrasting them with standard Nielsen-Olesen vortices.
Findings
Charged vortex solutions exist only with the Chern-Simons term.
Charged vortices differ significantly from Nielsen-Olesen vortices.
No charged solutions are found without the Chern-Simons term.
Abstract
We obtain electrically charged vortex solutions for the Born-Infeld Higgs system with a Chern Simons term. We analyse numerically these solutions, comparing their properties with those of ``normal'' Nielsen-Olesen vortices and also show that no charged vortex solutions exist in Born-Infeld theory when the Chern Simons term is absent.
