TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel gauge field $^{(p+2)}$ with a new gauge transformation for $p$-branes, offering an alternative to the conventional gauge ($p+1$)-form field in $p$-brane theory.
Contribution
It proposes a new gauge field $^{(p+2)}$ and a different gauge transformation, expanding the theoretical framework of $p$-brane interactions.
Findings
Introduces a new gauge field $^{(p+2)}$ for $p$-branes.
Defines a novel gauge transformation involving a coboundary operator.
Provides an alternative interaction mechanism for $p$-branes.
Abstract
In the conventional -brane theory, a gauge ()-form field mediates the interaction between -branes, which is gauge invariant in the sense with , an arbitrary -form and , a boundary operator. We, on the contrary, propose to introduce a new gauge field mediating the interaction, and we have a new type of gauge transformation: , with , a coboundary operator.
