M.B. Green (DAMTP, University of Cambridge, UK), M. Gutperle, (Princeton University, USA)

TL;DR
This paper explores the relationship between D-particle bound states in type IIA superstring theory and D-instanton measures in type IIB theory, revealing a new connection in string theory non-perturbative effects.
Contribution
It establishes a link between the Witten index for D-particle bound states and the D-instanton measure in type IIB string theory, providing new insights into non-perturbative phenomena.
Findings
Identifies a connection between D-particle bound states and D-instanton measures.
Provides a new perspective on non-perturbative effects in string theory.
Bridges concepts between type IIA and type IIB superstring theories.
Abstract
A connection is made between the Witten index of relevance to threshold bound states of D-particles in the type IIA superstring theory and the measure that enters D-instanton sums for processes dominated by single multiply-charged D-instantons in the type IIB theory.
