Leszek Hadasz

TL;DR
This paper calculates the semiclassical ground state energy of a modified Nambu-Goto string model, incorporating boundary and Gauss-Bonnet terms, and discusses issues related to tachyonic states.
Contribution
It introduces a modified string model with boundary and Gauss-Bonnet terms and computes its ground state energy using zeta function regularization.
Findings
Calculated the semiclassical energy of the modified string
Identified implications for the tachyonic ground state problem
Demonstrated the use of zeta function regularization in this context
Abstract
We calculate, using zeta function regularization method, semiclassical energy of the Nambu-Goto string supplemented with the boundary, Gauss-Bonnet term in the action and discuss the tachyonic ground state problem.
