Supersymmetry Breaking with Periodic Potentials
G. Dunne (UConn), J. Mannix (UC, Santa Cruz)

TL;DR
This paper explores how supersymmetry breaking occurs in quantum mechanical models with periodic potentials, highlighting the increased sensitivity to parameters compared to nonperiodic models and illustrating these effects with elliptic models.
Contribution
It introduces the analysis of supersymmetry breaking in periodic potentials and demonstrates the heightened parameter sensitivity through simple elliptic models.
Findings
Supersymmetry breaking is highly sensitive to superpotential parameters in periodic models.
Periodic potentials exhibit different supersymmetry breaking behavior than nonperiodic models.
Elliptic models effectively illustrate the parameter sensitivity in supersymmetry breaking.
Abstract
We discuss supersymmetry breaking in some supersymmetric quantum mechanical models with periodic potentials. The sensitivity to the parameters appearing in the superpotential is more acute than in conventional nonperiodic models. We present some simple elliptic models to illustrate these points.
