TL;DR
This paper introduces new six-dimensional gauge theories constructed via string and M-theory methods, enabling a broad class of gauge groups and theta angles, with potential matrix model formulations.
Contribution
It provides novel constructions of six-dimensional gauge theories using branes and orbifolds, expanding the landscape of known theories with arbitrary gauge groups and theta parameters.
Findings
Constructed six-dimensional theories from Type IIB fivebranes and M-theory orbifolds.
Achieved theories with any simple gauge group and rational theta angles.
Presented a matrix model approach to these theories.
Abstract
More general constructions are given of six-dimensional theories that look at low energy like six-dimensional super Yang-Mills theory. The constructions start with either parallel fivebranes in Type IIB, or M-theory on for a suitable finite group. Via these constructions, one can obtain six-dimensional theories with any simple gauge group, and theories with any rational theta angle. A matrix construction of these theories is also possible.
