Skyrmions and domain walls
B. Piette, W.J. Zakrzewski

TL;DR
This paper investigates a modified 3+1 dimensional Skyrme model with a different mass term, revealing the existence of domain wall solutions and their interaction with Skyrmions in an equivalent 2+1 dimensional setting.
Contribution
It introduces a novel mass term in the Skyrme model and demonstrates the existence of domain walls and their absorption of Skyrmions in a reduced dimensional framework.
Findings
Existence of domain wall solutions in the modified Skyrme model
Skyrmions are absorbed by domain walls in the 2+1 dimensional equivalent
New insights into Skyrmion-domain wall interactions
Abstract
We study the 3+1 dimensional Skyrme model with a mass term different from the usual one. We show that this new model possesses domain walls solutions. We describe how, in the equivalent 2+1 dimensional model, the Skyrmion is absorbed by the wall.
