L. R. Baboukhadia, A. A. Khelashvili, N. A. Kiknadze

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that a specific parity-preserving Pauli-Villars regularization scheme in (2+1)-dimensional QED yields consistent results, but ambiguity issues persist in non-Abelian models like QCD$_{3}$.
Contribution
It introduces and validates a parity-preserving Pauli-Villars regularization method for (2+1)-dimensional QED, highlighting its consistency with other schemes.
Findings
Consistent results with other regularization schemes in QED$_{3}$
Ambiguity problems remain in non-Abelian models like QCD$_{3}$
Supports parity-preserving regularization approaches
Abstract
It is shown that, in QED, the Pauli-Villars regularization involving a pair of auxiliary fermion fields with masses of opposite sign leads to results that are consistent with those obtained using all other parity-preserving schemes of regularization. At the same time, ambiguity problems remain unsolved in non-Abelian models (QCD).
