Comparing D-branes and Black Holes with 0- and 6-brane Charge
John M. Pierre

TL;DR
This paper compares the interaction potentials of D-branes with black hole solutions carrying 0- and 6-brane charges, using string theory calculations and supergravity solutions to explore their correspondence.
Contribution
It provides a detailed comparison between open string calculations of D-brane interactions and supergravity solutions for extremal black holes with mixed brane charges.
Findings
Open string calculations match supergravity results for certain configurations.
The study clarifies the relationship between D-brane probes and black hole geometries.
Results support the gauge/gravity duality in the context of brane charges.
Abstract
We consider configurations of D6-branes with D0-brane charge given by recent work of Taylor and compute interaction potentials with various D-brane probes using a 1-loop open string calculation. These results are compared to a supergravity calculation using the solution given by Sheinblatt of an extremal black hole carrying 0-brane and 6-brane charge.
