TL;DR
This paper reviews the structure and dualities of six-dimensional, N=1 string vacua, focusing on various dualities, compactifications, and non-perturbative phenomena in heterotic and F-theory frameworks.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive overview of duality connections and non-perturbative aspects of D=6, N=1 string vacua, highlighting new insights into heterotic and F-theory dualities.
Findings
Detailed analysis of T- and S-dualities in D=6, N=1 vacua
Connections between heterotic and F-theory dualities
Insights into non-perturbative heterotic vacua and small instantons
Abstract
We review the structure string vacua with emphasis on the different connections due to T-dualities and S-dualities. The topics discussed include: Anomaly cancellation; K3 and orbifold heterotic compactifications; T-dualities between and heterotic vacua; non-perturbative heterotic vacua and small instantons; N=2 Type-II/Heterotic duality in D=4 ; F-theory/heterotic duality in D=6; and heterotic/heterotic duality in six and four dimensions.
