Backreaction of excitations on a domain wall
R. Pelka

TL;DR
This paper studies how excitations like waves affect a domain wall in a scalar field, showing that such excitations cause the wall to radiate energy and presenting a method to calculate this backreaction.
Contribution
It introduces a general method for calculating the backreaction of various excitations on a domain wall, including homogeneous, plane wave, and wave packet types.
Findings
Excitations cause the domain wall to radiate energy.
The backreaction depends on the type of excitation.
A general calculation method for backreaction is provided.
Abstract
Backreaction of excitations on a planar domain wall in a real scalar field model is investigated in the cases of homogeneous, plane wave and wave packet type excitations. It is found that the excited domain wall radiates. The method of calculating backreaction for the general forms of excitations is also presented.
