TL;DR
This paper calculates the exact parity-breaking effective action for massive fermions in 2+1 dimensional QED at finite temperature, confirming gauge invariance under large gauge transformations.
Contribution
It provides the first exact computation of the induced parity-breaking term at finite temperature in 2+1 QED, ensuring gauge invariance is maintained.
Findings
Exact induced parity-breaking effective action computed.
Gauge invariance preserved under large gauge transformations.
Results applicable to finite temperature quantum field theories.
Abstract
We compute the exact induced parity-breaking part of the effective action for 2+1 massive fermions in at finite temperature by calculating the fermion determinant in a particular background. The result confirms that gauge invariance of the effective action is respected even when large gauge transformations are considered.
