Anomalous Creation of Branes
Constantin Bachas, Michael R. Douglas, Michael B. Green

TL;DR
This paper explains the phenomenon of brane creation during brane intersections using dualities and anomaly inflow, contributing to the understanding of brane dynamics in string theory.
Contribution
It introduces a novel explanation for brane creation via dualities and anomaly inflow, enhancing the theoretical framework of brane interactions.
Findings
Brane creation occurs when two branes pass through each other.
Charge inflow explains the absence of chiral anomalies during brane intersections.
The phenomenon is understood through chains of dualities.
Abstract
In certain circumstances when two branes pass through each other a third brane is produced stretching between them. We explain this phenomenon by the use of chains of dualities and the inflow of charge that is required for the absence of chiral gauge anomalies when pairs of D-branes intersect.
