Screening in three-dimensional QED
E. Abdalla, R. Banerjee

TL;DR
This paper calculates the quark-antiquark potential in three-dimensional massive QED, revealing screening effects at large quark masses and classical behavior at small separations.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed computation of the potential in 3D massive QED, highlighting the transition from classical to screening regimes.
Findings
Screening dominates at large quark masses.
Classical potential is recovered at small quark separations.
The potential behavior varies with quark mass and separation.
Abstract
We compute the quark-antiquark potential in three dimensional massive Quantum Electrodynamics. The result indicates that screening prevails for large quark masses, contrary to the classical expectations. The classical result is reproduced for small separation of the quarks.
